Sir, – As a (very) minor collector of stamps, I would welcome a reader’s suggestion of a stamp commemorating Elvis (Letters, September 3rd).
However, I would advise An Post to think twice.
The US Postal Service issued a range of Elvis stamps and then noticed a large increase in badly and wrongly addressed letters.
Apparently fans intentionally caused their letters to be sent back through the system with the message “Return to Sender” stamped across them. – Yours, etc,
