Sir, – I am now the proud owner (actually, involuntary host) of a smart electricity meter. On consulting my energy provider’s website, I find a baffling array of plans among which I can choose armed only with a comically poor level of available usage data. If my new meter is so smart, why can’t it look at my actual usage, and then bill me at the lowest applicable rate? – Yours, etc,
