Sir, – Dublin City Council is up in arms about the “serious issue” of stickers on poles (“Local authority says stickers are a ‘serious issue’ but fans argue they are ‘mini-masterpieces’”, News, October 2nd).
Surely the real eyesore is the plague of poles, bollards, metal boxes and other “street furniture” that obstruct and disfigure the city centre, most of which the council has erected.
To mangle a gospel quotation: “Remove the pole from your eye first”. – Yours, etc,
