The headline over an article in last Thursday’s edition, concerning the switching of patients from one brand of anti-clotting drug warfarin to another, may have suggested that there is a danger from one particular alternative drug.

In fact, as the text made clear, The Irish Medicines Board (IMB) has pointed to a risk involved in switching brands of warfarin. In addition, the article suggested that branded warfarin is preferred by the IMB. In fact, all warfarin in Ireland is branded, including the generic versions.

Articles in last Saturday’s and in yesterday’s editions, concerning the death of former minister for foreign affairs Jim Dooge, stated that the government in which he served lasted for 18 months. It lasted for eight months.
