Apology – Pádraig O'Céidigh: An article published in the edition of February 2nd last stated that Aer Arann chairman Pádraig O'Céidigh sold salt to the National Roads Authority during the recent freeze.
Mr O'Céidigh has pointed out that he sourced suppliers of the badly-needed salt and passed on the contact details directly to the National Roads Authority who contracted directly with the suppliers. Mr O'Céidigh did not profit from this transaction. The Irish Timesapologises for this error.
