In an article in last Tuesday’s edition, concerning salaries in education quangos, the salary of the acting director general of Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) was given as €259,697. However SFI has pointed out that the salary of John Travers, its interim director general, has still to be negotiated. With the agreement of Mr Travers this will be at a level which is a fraction of that paid to the previous incumbent, according to SFI.
