A sentence in the lead story yesterday was unclear. It should have read "The Treasury now has unprecedented power to freeze US assets of international businesses as punishment for activities abroad, an extension of extra-territorial legislation that in the past, when applied to firms doing business with Cuba, has been opposed by US allies".
