An article in the edition of November 18th, concerning the arts and politics, said that Dermot Desmond’s enthusiasm for the arts was new-found and suggested that it is mainly motivated by a desire to stimulate “creative industries”.
Mr Desmond has pointed out that he has had an involvement with the arts since the 1980s, is a trustee of the Chester Beatty Library, is promoting the Cultural Odyssey and is not predominantly motivated by economic factors.
