Brother Liam (27) became a missionary of love to the people of South Korea in a short period of 11 months. He left his family in Maywood, Raheny, Dublin 5, on January 3rd this year to help to embody the Franciscan values in Seoul in South Korea.

Educated at St Fintan's high school, Sutton, he made his final profession in August 1991. He achieved his degrees in Philosophy and Theology in Milltown Institute. In Korea, Liam brought with him his love of sport. music and the Irish language. To his Capuchin confreres in South Korea and throughout Ireland, he has fulfilled his mission as a joyful, faithful and loyal ambassador.

Koreans of all religions and none openly prayed and wept at the hospital where he was brought after being struck by a car at a pedestrian crossing on December 10th in Seoul. While Liam's remains were being returned to Dublin, according to his expressed wishes and to immense value and example to the Korean people, his organs have been donated to the Medical Centre in Seoul.
