Real Madrid are close to completing a world-record signing of Zinedine Zidane from Juventus, Spanish radio station Copereported today.
According to the report, Real president Florentino Perez met with Juventus general manager Luciano Moggi in Switzerland on Tuesday, and a transfer fee of 12,800 million pesetas ($65.16 million) was agreed for the French midfielder.
That would smash the $56.1 million Real paid Barcelona to buy Portugal's Luis Figo out of his contract last year.
The report said a verbal agreement had been reached between the two clubs and that a deal could be closed later today.
