A teenager, who was charged for the 108th time last week, has been further remanded in custody to St Patrick's Institution to await sentencing on his 77th conviction.

Judge Bridget Reilly heard at the Dublin Children's Court yesterday that the youth (17) was arrested drunk after he had been involved in a street row, and had been in breach of a probation bond which freed him in December.

Garda Greg Fleming, Fitzgibbon Street station, Dublin, told the court that he arrested the teenager at 2.30 a.m. on January 10th for being drunk and disorderly on Dorset Street.

He said a motorist had phoned the Garda after witnessing an incident in which the teenager had attacked a man and a woman.

The youth had been released on his third, one-year probation bond in December for repeatedly breaking the law after he was let out on a suspended sentence.

The youth was refused bail last week after the Garda objected to bail because he had skipped court 30 times.

Judge Reilly ordered a further remand in custody until his sentencing on January 23th to allow the case to go before Judge Geoffrey Browne who had put the youth on the probation bond.
