A youth who sliced the face of a woman with a beer bottle while her four-year-old son looked on has had his sentence adjourned to July 17th. A 16-year-old youth from Ballinteer, Co Dublin, pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to unlawfully taking a car and to robbery inflicting harm on March 10th, 1998.
A garda said the woman saw two youths standing at her parked car on Greenmount Lane in Harold's Cross. One youth knocked her to the ground and the defendant threatened to kill her if she moved, before he made a half-inch slice to her face with a broken beer bottle and cut her right hand. Her son screamed when he saw blood on his mother's face.
Judge Elizabeth Dunne ordered a probation report.
