President Yeltsin's doctors ordered him to cancel his planned one-day trip to Austria today to attend the EU summit, Russian news agencies quoted the Kremlin as saying. A spokesman said the 67-yearold leader was suffering from a condition which translates as nervous weakness or exhaustion. Doctors saw no reason for Mr Yeltsin to be in hospital but suggested a holiday, he said.
The Russian Prime Minister, Mr Yevgeny Primakov, will attend the summit in Mr Yeltsin's place. Mr Yeltsin had to cut short a trip to Central Asia earlier this month and Kremlin doctors said then he was suffering from bronchitis.
