Pedestrians were inches away from serious injury after a roof collapsed on a London street, raining debris onto the pavement below.
High winds caused a portion of the roof on a premises on Uxbridge Road, Shepherds Bush, to tumble three stories to the pavement.
“Miraculously, no one was seriously hurt when the building caved in on Saturday afternoon, as large pieces of masonry from the terraced home came crashing down between pedestrians,” said Hammersmith and Fulham Council.
“There is no further immediate danger to the public, the Health and Safety Executive have been informed of the incident and the road and pavement have been re-opened.”
