In eastern Ukraine, combatants are still dying every day in a largely forgotten war between the pro-western Kiev government and Russian-backed separatists. And the conflict could be set to intensify.

The two sides are drawing nearer, and the Unites States is ramping up its material support for Kiev, defying expectations of a Putin-friendly Trump presidency. Dan McLaughlin went to Ukraine to see US involvement in action.
