Workers at Fujitsu’s manufacturing plant in Antrim are taking strike action today in a dispute over pay
Workers plan to stage another strike on Friday, 5th September and have threatened further industrial action.
According to the Communications Workers Union (CWU), the company has failed to provide an improved offer or any meaningful pay talks since strike action was announced last week.
Workers at the Antrim plant are paid far less than their colleagues in Birmingham, in some cases earning £8,000 a year less, the CWU said.
CWU deputy general secretary, Andy Kerr added: “Fujitsu workers at the Antrim plant feel let down by the company and are dissatisfied with the two-tier approach to pay.
“Pay inequality is unacceptable, and this normally patient workforce have voiced their frustration through this industrial action."
