Two women have appeared in court charged with the murder of a man whose body was found in a slurry pit in west Cork over three years ago.

Amanda McNab (25) and Una Geaney (44) both with an address at Mullinagleamig, Dingle, Co Kerry, were charged with the murder of Garry Bull (37) at Shanlaragh in Dunmanway, Co Cork, on or about September 23rd, 2007.

At Clonakilty District Court this morning. Det Sgt Gerry Crowley gave evidence of the arrest, charge and caution in respect of Ms McNab. He told the court that when charged, she replied: “I have nothing to say".

Sergeant Michael Lyons told the court Ms Geaney made no reply when charged.

Inspector Colin Collins applied to have both accused remanded in custody to appear in Bandon District Court on Friday.

Judge Jim McNulty remanded the women and granted free legal aid. He ordered that they be provided with all medical attention required while in prison.
