A WOMAN who used an alias to rent a flat because of recent newspaper reports about her was refused free legal aid when she appeared in the Dublin District Court on motoring offences.

Ms Yanich le Gallo (37), of Serpentine Avenue, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4, is charged with dangerous driving, driving with no insurance and failing to stop on Harcourt Road on September 6th.

Objecting to bail, Garda Joe Lowney, of Harcourt Terrace station, said the woman had 16 different aliases and five different addresses. One of the aliases was Adrienne McKenzie, the court was told.

The defendant said she had used the name of Adrienne McKenzie to rent her Ballsbridge apartment. She said this was because of "all the publicity" following recent articles about her in a Sunday newspaper.
