Gardai were yesterday trying to establish a motive for a petrol-bombing incident in which a woman received serious burns to her face and arms. The petrol-bomb was thrown through a window at the home of Ms Lydia Hickey in Darndale, Dublin, as she was making a bottle feed for her two-year-old grandson at 2 a.m. on Sunday.
Her 15-year-old daughter, Kim, came to her rescue, throwing a blanket over her and dragging her from the house, which was damaged by fire. The woman is making a good recovery in hospital, according to a Garda spokesman.
