GARDAI in Cork are searching for two men who broke into the home of a middle aged woman in the city and threatened her with a knife punching her in the face.
The attack occurred at 1 a.m. yesterday when the woman was in bed at her home at Blarney Street. The attackers, described as in their early 20s, broke in through a rear window. They ransacked the house and took some tablets before they left.
Gardai have not ruled out a link between the latest incident and an attack last week on an 85 year old woman, Ms Rose Hyland, in the Blackpool area of the city.
