One woman was killed and a second in a critical condition in hospital last night after a road accident in Tipperary. The two were walking on the Cappa white Road at Murgasty, near the town, at 8 p.m. when they were struck by a vehicle.
The dead woman was in her early 40s and from the locality. Her 16-year-old niece, from Cork, was taken to Our Lady's Hospital in Cashel where she was said to be critical.
Meanwhile, a man who was injured when his car hit a roundabout at Strand Road and Station Road in Portmarnock, Co Dublin, at 1.40 a.m. on Friday died at Beaumont Hospital yesterday. He was Mr Brendan Maloney (22), of Strand Road, Ballycastle, Co Antrim.
