A woman has been injured in a driveby shooting in Drimnagh, west Dublin, this afternoon.
The woman, believed to be in her 50s, was taken to St James’s hospital where she is being treated. Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
A Garda spokesman said a silver BMW drove down Knocknarea Road at about 1pm with two men inside. “A number of shots were fired at the front of a house,” the spokesman added.
Detectives have asked members of the public with information to contact them.
One man in the BMW car is described as being 5' 7'' tall, 17 to 20 years old, wearing a black "floppy" hat. The second man is described as being 5' 5'', also 17 to 20, with short, brown hair and wearing a bright multicoloured waist-length jacket.
The BMW car was later found near Walkinstown Road.
According to gardaí, a white van is also believed to be involved. The driver is described as being 24-25 years old, with short brown hair.
