A woman arrested over a pipe bomb attack on a Belfast community worker’s home was released today, police said.

Detectives will prepare a report on the incident at Glandore Avenue, North Belfast, for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The 20-year old woman was arrested in Newtownabbey yesterday.

The device exploded outside the front window of Mary Kelly’s house at about 1am on Tuesday. It was the third attack on the house in under a year.

A number of nearby homes were evacuated while Army bomb disposal experts made the area safe.

The bomb, which only partially detonated, badly damaged the window and sill.

Ms Kelly works on a number of cross-community projects in an area marked by sectarian interfaces and was recently honoured by the Community Relations Council (CRC) with an award for exceptional achievement.

A bomb damaged her house in April while vandals smashed her windows in January.

Meanwhile, two men arrested over serious crime in Co Tyrone have been released without charge, the PSNI said.

One of the men, 32, was questioned for almost a week after being detained last Saturday by the PSNI crime operations department. He was released yesterday.

The other, a 46-year-old man, was arrested in Belfast as part of the same investigation on Thursday, before being released from custody today.

A PSNI spokesman said both men were released unconditionally.
