A post-mortem examination was conducted at the Limerick Regional Hospital yesterday on Ms Michelle Grant (26), of Borrigone, Askeaton, Co Limerick, a nurse who had returned home on holiday from Jersey.
She was struck by a large stone which smashed through the windscreen of the car being driven by her sister on Tuesday while they were driving on Foynes Road near the Ferry Bridge. Gardai believe the stone, which first hit the bonnet of the car, may have become displaced by a passing lorry, the driver of which may be unaware of the accident.
