A DUBLIN woman died in Wexford on Saturday after being involved in a collision with a truck while participating in a charity cycle.
Niamh Kane (51) from Mount Merrion was cycling in Main Street, Ferns, at about 3.30pm, when she was involved in a collision with a truck.
She was taken to Wexford general hospital where she died later.
A pharmacist, Ms Kane was taking part in the annual Welcome Home charity cycle from UCD to Wexford which raises funds for the Father Peter McVerry trust. She was a regular participant in the event. She is survived by her husband, Martin, and four sons.
Meanwhile, gardaí in Terenure, Dublin, are appealing for help in their investigation into a fatal road crash which occurred earlier this month.
An 82-year-old woman died when she was struck by a reversing car at about 10.50am on Monday, September 8th. She was taken to St James's Hospital where she died some hours later.
Gardaí are particularly interested in talking to a woman who carried out first aid on the woman, and a male motorcyclist who also gave assistance.
