A woman has been charged with murdering one of three men found dead in a block of flats in Glasgow in Scotland on Sunday.
The bodies of David Gillespie (42), Ian Mitchell (67) and 70-year-old Irishman Anthony Coyle were recovered from a top-floor property in Dixon Avenue in the Govanhill area of Glasgow.
Ms Edith McAlinden (36) was charged yesterday with the murder of Mr Gillespie, who lived in Dixon Avenue, when she appeared before Glasgow Sheriff Court.
Ms McAlinden, whose address was given as Glasgow, made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody.
Strathclyde Police last night confirmed investigations were continuing into the deaths of the two older men, who both lived in Dixon Avenue. They confirmed that Anthony Coyle was originally from Donegal, reportedly from Bloody Foreland.
A major investigation was launched after the grim discovery was made following a 999 call in the early hours of Sunday.
A Strathclyde Police spokesman said: "A 36-year-old woman has been arrested and is presently detained in police custody in connection with the death of David Gillespie.
"Post-mortem examinations have still to be carried out on the two other men whose names will not be released until they are formally identified."
After the discovery of the bodies, scores of police officers, including a forensic team, searched through bushes, bins and drains which lined the street.
Neighbours said they thought the flat was used by five men as a bedsit and some spoke of hearing a loud bang late on Saturday night. -(PA)
