A 27-YEAR-OLD mother of one died yesterday in a house fire in Carlow. The dead woman’s father, who escaped from the property, was treated in hospital for smoke inhalation.
She has been named locally as Eileen Lacey. The fire broke out in Dereen Heights in Carlow shortly before 3am. It is understood the man, who is in his 60s, ran out of the three-bedroom house. Attempts were made to save his daughter before their home was engulfed by flames.
