The former Belfast Lord Mayor, Mr Sammy Wilson of the democratic Unionist party, and a friend, Ms Sharon May Rivers, were granted injunctions yesterday in respect of photographs published in a newspaper last Sunday.
The injunctions restrain Sunday World and its northern editor, Mr Jim McDowell, from publishing holiday photographs showing them nude or semi nude.
The injunctions, granted by Mr Justice Campbell in the High Court in Belfast, also restrain the paper's publishers, Sunday Newspapers Ltd, and Mr McDowell from distributing the photographs.
The functions remain in force until May 31st unless they are set aside. Writs have also been issued against the Sunday World claiming damages under the Copyright Act and seeking the return of all negatives and copies of the photo graphs.
