NEW YORK - The wife of a jazz saxophonist, Wayne Shorter, and the daughter of the jazz singer Jon Lucien were on the TWA flight, a music industry source said.
The impact of the crash was also felt across corporate US boardrooms as several companies reported that key executives were passengers.
Merger plans between two small insurance companies were thrown into upheaval when Memphis based Midland Financial Group Inc. and New York based Danielson Holding Corporation disclosed that top officials of both companies, Mr Charles Gray and Mr Kirk Rhein, were on the Paris bound plane.
TWA was criticised for failing to release timely passenger lists from the crash.
A New Jersey resident, Ms Nancy Capozza, told journalists that one of the passengers on the flight was a 12 year old French student who had been staying at her home for a month on a school exchange programme. Ms Capozza complained that TWA had failed to inform the relatives of the boy, Ludovic Chanson. "I told them myself. The mother was devastated," she said.
