The widowed mother of a Limerick student, Ms Michelle Marrinan (23), one of two people killed in a car accident while on holidays on the Continent, flew to Spain yesterday to bring back the body for burial.
The driver of the car, Mr Christopher Ranedo-Klein (21), with a Dublin address, was also killed in the crash at the weekend. Mr Conor Upton, also from Dublin, was seriously injured. The accident occurred near La Rioja when the car struck a traffic sign and collided with a concrete barrier.
Ms Marrinan was due to resume her communications studies in Dublin later this month. She was the youngest daughter of Mrs Ann Marrinan, principal, St Patrick's Girls School, Limerick, and the late Sean Marrinan.
