Jakarta - The leader of the political separatist movement in Indonesia's Irian Jaya (West Papua) province was found dead yesterday after being kidnapped on Saturday night.
The official cause of Mr Theys Eluay's death is unknown but local media quoted police sources as saying that the flamboyant chairman of the Papuan Presidium council appeared to have been strangled, when he was found in his car in a ravine close to the border with Papua New Guinea.
