West Ham confirm interest in Bowyer

West Ham have confirmed their interest in signing Leeds midfielder Lee Bowyer.

West Ham have confirmed their interest in signing Leeds midfielder Lee Bowyer.

Signing a striker remains the priority for Hammers manager Glenn Roeder, whose side are bottom of the Barclaycard Premiership.

West Ham's managing director Paul Aldridge said: "There have been no conversations with Leeds yet, and our priority is to sign a forward.

"People within football know he's available and that he is not going to re-sign for Leeds."

Bowyer's current contract at Elland Road expires in the summer.
