Jerusalem - The opening of the long-awaited safe passage between the West Bank and Gaza Strip has been further delayed over "technical" problems and will not open today, Israeli television reported.
It said last night that Israeli officials had indicated the Palestinians still had to overcome some "technical problems before they can open the passage". But the Palestinian Civil Affairs Minister, Mr Jamil Tarifi, told the network he still believes the route will open "in a day or two" following another day of talks to iron out the details which have delayed its planned October 1st opening.
