Welsh police are investigating the death of a 19-year-old man in Bridgend, an area that has suffered a spate of suicides among young people, South Wales police said today.
"We can confirm the death of a 19-year-old male, who was found at 7.30 am in the Bettws area of Bridgend," a police spokesman said in a statement.
"There do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances and an investigation is under way."
Prior to Sunday, 18 people under the age of 27 have reportedly killed themselves in the Bridgend area since the start of last year.
Police said in January that they were looking for possible links between the deaths, but said there was no evidence of a suicide pact.
