The World Cup qualifier between the Republic of Ireland and Cyprus in Lansdowne Road at 6 p.m. tomorrow could make the late afternoon traffic in Dublin more congested than usual. Otherwise no major gridlock appears to be in prospect over the weekend.
DUBLIN
The ESB will be carrying out major cable-laying works until further notice on the South Circular Road (Harcourt Road) between Dolphin Avenue and Harrington Street. It is also carrying out major cable-laying on the Drimnagh Road between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. until further notice.
Bord Gβis will be laying new pipes on Griffith Avenue between Ballymun Road and Swords Road. Bord Gβis will also be laying new pipes on the Ballymun road between Old Finglas Road and Griffith Avenue.
CORK
Roadworks are in place in both directions on the Skehard Road near the junction with Lough Mahon Technology Park until November 5th. Roadworks are also under way on the N78 between Kildorrery and Mitchelstown until October 8th.
OFFALY
Pipeline work will be in place on the N62 through Ferbane until further notice. Traffic is being diverted via Tullamore southbound and long delays are expected.
MEATH
The N3 will remain closed between Ross Cross and Fairyhouse Cross to Dublin-bound traffic until October 12th, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. each day.
KILDARE
Roadworks on the Rathcoffey Road in Maynooth are under way until October 10th, with temporary lights in operation.
CLARE
Roadworks are in operation until at least the end of 2001 on the N18 at the new Dromoland interchange (Latoon Cross).
