Dublin

It is another big weekend at Croke Park, with the All-Ireland hurling championship quarterfinals (Clare v Galway, and Antrim v Offaly) on Sunday. Delays can be expected on the main routes to Dublin. The usual travel restrictions will be in place near the stadium.

Leeson Street Upper and Lower will be affected by work on a bus corridor outside peak hours.

Bord Gais will be working on Pembroke Road, Raglan Road, Elgin Road and Clyde Road.

There will be single-lane traffic on College Road in Rathfarnham, with temporary traffic lights in operation.

Kellystown Road in Rathfarnham remains closed for the construction of a motorway bridge. An alternative route is via Ticknock Road and Harold's Cross Road.

Stocking Lane in Rathfarnham is also closed at the interface with the proposed Southern Cross Motorway. An alternative route is via Edmonstown Road and Mount Venus Road.

Cork:

Patrick Street northbound is closed between Grand Parade and Academy Street to allow for work on the Cork main drainage scheme. Boreenmanagh Road is also closed between the junction of Glencoo Lawn and Flaherty's Lane.

Bridge construction work continues on Lancaster Quay, the right-hand side of which is closed to traffic between the junctions with Little Hanover Street and Woods Street.

Sligo:

Roadworks continue on the N4 Sligo-Dublin road from the second roundabout at Collooney.

Laois:

Resurfacing works continue in Abbeyleix. Delays of up to 45 minutes can be expected at peak times.

Carlow:

The N9 Leighlinbridge Bypass will be reduced to a single lane between the town and Royal Oak. Traffic between Dublin and Waterford should use the N78 through Athy and Castlecomer instead.

Rail:

Iarnrod Eireann will be running special trains for people travelling to the All-Ireland hurling championship games in Croke Park. Contact local stations for details.

Iarnrod Eireann has also introduced a new Sunday suburban rail service between Pearse Station, Dublin, and Drogheda. Four trains will operate in each direction, making nine stops en route.

Leixlip Confey station will be closed until August 3rd due to improvement work on the Maynooth-Dublin suburban route. Passengers are advised to use Leixlip Louisa Bridge in the interim.

Sea:

Dublin Port Ferry Terminal 5, south of the Liffey at Pigeon House Road, has become the new departure point for the Isle of Man ferry and the Supercat to Liverpool.

Air:

More than 160,000 passengers are expected to pass through Dublin Airport this weekend, 51,656 today, 59,861 tomorrow and 46,973 on Sunday.

Road Deaths:

Five people were killed in road accidents this week, bringing to 26 the number killed this month and to 220 the number killed this year.
