The National Safety Council's message is "easy on the accelerator" this bank holiday weekend. About 130,000 passengers are expected to travel with Iarnrod Eireann over the coming days and extra trains will operate on all routes. A special service for hurling fans attending the league semi-finals will operate from Ennis, Cork and Limerick to Thurles on Sunday.

Dublin

Single-lane traffic is in place on the Dundrum Road and Kilgobbin Road in Stepaside and on Killiney Hill Road, the inbound lane of the Loughlinstown Dual Carriageway and on the outbound section of the Finglas Road from Mellowes Road to Wellmount Road. Road works are causing disruption on the Howth Road at Killester, Kildare Street, Rathgar Road, Beach Road. Delays on Taney Road from Dundrum Road to Goatstown, and on the Jamestown Road at the Poppintree Industrial estate. Construction of the Navan Road Bus Corridor is causing disruption on the outbound section of the Navan Road/Cabra Road and Navan Road/Ratoath Road junctions. A number of city and suburban streets are closed, including Ormond Square, Luke Street with traffic diverted via Poolbeg and Tara Streets, Burgh Quay, Hawkins Street and Townsend Street. The outbound road in the Kimmage Road direction from Harolds Cross Road is blocked.

Shop Street is closed and traffic bound for Salthill is advised to travel via Eyre Square South, Victoria Place, Queen Street, Dock Road and Spanish Parade.

Limerick

Delays of up to 20 minutes can be expected on Henry street due to roadworks at the Franciscan church.

Kildare

Long delays on the N4 on the Galway side of Kilcock and Shaw Bridge in the town is closed to heavy commercial vehicles.

Donegal

Severe disruption continues on the Ballybofey Road leading out of Donegal town.

Waterford

There is a new traffic flow system at Rice Bridge to help ease access to the city. William Street has been reopened and there are waterworks on the N25 Kilmeaden to Waterford Road.

Cork

The N72 is closed to traffic near Lombardstown Cross west of Mallow. Single lane traffic outbound from Cork city to Rochestown, Carrigaline and Ringaskiddy from Douglas Bridge to Rochestown slip road. Adelaide Street and Phoenix Street are closed. There are roadworks on the Lower Glanmire Road/Grattan Hill junction.

Meath

The Kilmoone-Drogheda Road is closed at Duleek and a detour is operating via the N2 to Curtis Cross and down the R150 into Duleek and on to Drogheda. Delays on the N4 at Enfield.

Westmeath

The Dublin Road at the Canal Bridge is disrupted with temporary lights and a diversion in place.

Mayo

The N59 at Burrishoole Bridge is closed between Newport and Mulraney.

Roscommon

Traffic on the N4 diverted north of Boyle town where a detour of over 7 km exists.
