ROADS
In Dublin the Northern Cross Motorway will be open from 3 p.m. today. Single lane traffic is in operation on Churchtown Road eastbound from Nutgrove Avenue to Churchtown Road Lower. Brewery Road and South Avenue, Stillorgan, are closed. Sheriff Street is closed and there are waterworks on Brunswick Street.
Commons Street, near Connolly Station, will be closed until the weekend. There is a contraflow on Custom House Quay.
The main exit from the Phoenix Park to Conyngham Road has been reduced to one lane. Reconstruction work is taking place from Shanganagh Road/Dublin junction to Quinn's Road. There is pipelaying at the junction of Seafield Road and Trimleston Road, Booterstown. Well Road, Swords, is closed and the alternative route is via New Road. Hudson Road, Glasthule, is closed from the junction with Adelaide Road to Albert Road.
Operation Freeflow means Dublin gardai are moving illegally parked cars.
In Balbriggan, Rowan Road is closed. The Naul Balbriggan Road is closed. Alternative routes are via Mays Road, Walshetown Road, Balrickard Road, Bog Road, Knock Road and Drogheda Road.
Road improvement work on the Naas dual carriageway will continue until July 1997 between Newlands Cross and Rathcoole with a 40 m.p.h. restriction.
In Cork there is no entry to Maylor Street from Patrick Street 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Roadworks continue on Model Farm Road and Magazine Road at the College Road junction. There are also delays on the Blarney to Tower Road due to roadworks.
In Galway there are roadworks on the N17 at Claregalway and the Kingston Road. Work on Carnmore Road is causing delays of 10 to 15 minutes and those travelling to the airport should allow extra time.
In Bray traffic is restricted to one lane on Old Connaught Avenue.

BUSES
Dublin Bus expects to carry up to 620,000 passengers on its Christmas Nitelink service. It will operate on 12 corridors from D'Olier Street, College Street and Westmoreland Street with buses at midnight, 1 a.m, 2 a.m. and 3 a.m.
Dublin Bus is offering a Family Day Bus Ticket at £4.50, a reduction of £1, which allows two adults and four children under 16 unlimited travel on bus services excluding Nitelink, Airlink, Ferry Services and tours.
RAIL
Iarnrod Eireann is offering a return fare of £15 to Belfast tomorrow and next Saturday plus extra services.
