The death toll on Irish roads this weekend has risen eight after a 23-year-old man was killed in Co Roscommon this morning.
Gardai from Boyle Garda Station are investigating a the single-vehicle crash which occurred at 10.40 a.m. when the man's car struck a fence.
It emerged earlier today that a Co Laois man died in hospital overnight following a crash yesterday afternoon.
The 64-year-old died and a woman passenger was injured when their car collided with a coach at Grange, Stradbally, Co Laois at 4.20 p.m.
The driver was later transferred to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin where he died in the early hours of this morning. The coach driver was uninjured.
In Co Wexford, a 60-year-old woman died when the car she was driving collided with a motorcycle killing its rider.
The crash happened at Farmleigh, between Enniscorthy and Bunclody, at 6.10 p.m. yesterday evening. The male motorcyclist was in his 30s.
In Cork, a motorcyclist died and his pillion passenger was injured when they crashed into a tree in North Mall, at 8.30 p.m. yesterday evening. Both men were 22-year-old French nationals.
Later in Co Tipperary, three people died in a two-car collision at Drom, near Templemore, which happened at around 3.40 a.m.
Two men - the driver and his front-seat passenger were killed - and a rear seat male passenger was injured in the crash. A woman in the rear seat of the other car involved also died in the crash.
The female driver of the second car and her male passenger were injured. The three survivors were taken to Nenagh Hospital where the injuries are not regarded as life-threatening.
The three deceased are thought to be non-nationals.
The names of the deceased have not been released.
