Authorities in Chicago have launched a website aiming to give away millions of dollars in unclaimed cash.
The site lists people who have died without leaving a will, as well as details of how much they left.
Around half a million people have already visited the site to see if they are due any cash from the estates.
The Cook County Treasurer's website contains details of the unclaimed assests of 1,550 people, totalling $30 million (the equivalent of £20.5 million), and is attracting visitors from as far afield as Poland.
Cook County Treasurer Ms Maria Pappas said: "This would have been unimaginable just a few years ago.
"But in this age of technology and information access, this type of data belongs in the public domain to help those who might have legitimate claims on these funds."
