LONDON - Up to 150 share holding campaigners disrupted British Aerospace's annual general meeting yesterday to protest at the company's arms sales to Indonesia.
The action, organised by the Campaign Against the Arms Trade, was led by three women who hit the headlines last summer when they disarmed a BAe Hawk fighter jet bound for Indonesia and use in East Timor.
A spokesman for BAe said the protesters were removed and the meeting was concluded successfully. "The company maintains that there is no evidence that British Aerospace Hawks have been used in East Timor," he said.
