Gardaí investigating an alleged criminal gang have seized two loaded rocket launchers, an assault rifle and cocaine valued at €630,000 in Co Kildare.
The weapons and nine kilos of cocaine were discovered this morning in a warehouse at Longtown House on the Clane road in Straffan.
An Army bomb disposal squad is at the scene.
Gardaí from the Organised Crime Unit raided the premises in a follow-up search after four men were arrested yesterday.
Gardaí stopped a car on the Naas Road yesterday and recovered a kilo of cocaine worth €70,000. Two men were arrested.
Two more men were arrested in a follow-up search operation in the Rathcoole area and all four are being questioned at Clondalkin Garda station today.
It is understood the seizures and arrests are linked to a south Dublin drugs gang.
Fine Gael's justice spokesman Charlie Flanagan said the discovery of the rocket launchers was "a chilling reminder" of the threat posed by criminal gangs.
"Gangland criminals are obviously upping the ante in the pursuit of their drug fuelled activities," he said. "This discovery of loaded rocket launchers is a chilling reminder of the disregard gang members have for human life and the destruction they are capable of wreaking on their targets."
