Waterford crewman is to be buried today

THE funeral of Mr Conor O'Grady (22), the only crewman to be recovered from the missing trawler, Jenalisa, takes place today

THE funeral of Mr Conor O'Grady (22), the only crewman to be recovered from the missing trawler, Jenalisa, takes place today. Mr O'Grady, from Annestown, Co Waterford, is to be buried after Mass in Fenor at 1 p.m.

The search for the other two crewmen missing with the boat, which sank off Dunmore on Sunday, is to resume this morning. An intensive search involving 15 trawlers, two lifeboats from Dunmore and Kilmore Quay, as well as the Naval Service's LE Aisling, failed to find any trace of the skipper owner, Mr Peter Nolan (39), and Mr Niall Power (25), both from Dunmore East.

Bad weather has hampered naval divers and the Garda sub aqua unit who were to examine an area where an oil slick was spotted near Brownstown Head. Weather conditions will determine whether they can dive today.

Capt David Shiel, of the Irish Marine Emergency Services, who is co ordinating the shore search locally, thanked the many people who were taking part. Several fish boxes and other equipment were picked up on the Hook Head peninsula but these have to be confirmed as coming from the Jenalisa.
