Bathers have been warned to stay out of the water along many of Co Waterford's beaches because of dangerous conditions created by winds and high tides. The warning follows the death of Christopher Power (6), from Ballybeg in Waterford city, who drowned off Tramore beach on Tuesday.
Lifeguards are advising bathers to stay out of the water between 3.30 and 8 p.m., when conditions are hazardous due to a combination of winds and spring tides.
