Night-time water restrictions in parts of Dublin, Kildare and Wicklow are set to continue for the immediate future.
Dublin City Council, the lead water authority for the region, said levels in the city?s reservoirs are continuing to improve and some water has been placed in storage despite the full return to business and reopening of schools after the holiday period on Monday.
The council said restrictions will continue to be imposed tonight while the full impact of the return to business on the network is monitored.
A meeting with the region?s other local authorities is scheduled to take place tomorrow morning to discuss a progressive reduction of restrictions from tomorrow night.
Wicklow County Council said there is still a shortage of water due to burst and leaking pipes. It said supply interruptions will last for a number of days but it will review the situation on an ongoing basis.
Kildare County Council also said night-time restrictions will continue for the foreseeable future.
