As many as 40,000 homes and businesses are expected to be affected by water restrictions in Dublin over the weekend.
Disruptions to services are likely due to essential major emergency works on the network.
Work on improving services began at 6am yesterday morning and are scheduled to finish at midnight.
Among the areas expected to be impacted are Artane, Swords, Santry, Sutton, Coolock, Kilbarrack, Howth and Balgriffin.
Fingal County Council and Dublin City Council are appealing to the public and business community to conserve water and minimise usage as much as possible.
The lower than normal rainfall so far this year has led the Raw Water Storage Reservoirs in the Greater Dublin Region to be at levels lower than would have been expected for this time of year.
Dublin City Council is providing a number of mobile tankers in affected area.
Further disruption of services is expected next Saturday when repairs to the water works in the Ranelagh area are due to take place.
