FESTIVAL WATCH CONNEMARA PONY SHOW:AFTER BEING launched on Sunday August 17th with the selection of the 2008 Pony Show Queen, the festival has only two days left, ending on Friday August 22nd.
Today is considered to be the highlight of the event, the Show Day. "A world famous event attracting visitors from all corners of the world."
Though the Show Day will be the centre of attention, the pony show also offers dancing competitions, dog shows, a lesson on how to side-saddle and a traditional market day on the streets of Clifden. In the past, this show has held 7,000-8,000 people, but tomorrow it is expected to boost that number even higher.
Tomorrow, for the final day, 70 ponies will compete in the working hunter competition, along with the sales of 230 registered ponies in the Clifden Mart.
