Fears that jockey Ruby Walsh had sustained a broken leg while riding at Listowel today were abated this evening when he was diagnosed with only a dislocated hip on arrival at Tralee hospital.
Walsh was riding Johnny Ringo in the Bank Of Ireland Handicap at 4.30 p.m. when his mount was brought down by War Cabinet at the fifth last.
It was original suspected that he had fractured his femur and damaged his pelvis but x-ray’s revealed the injuries not to be as serious.
He will remain in Tralee hospital overnight and it is not known when he will be in the saddle again.
