Further cases of the so-called winter vomitting virus have been confirmed at two Waterford hospitals.
Fourteen additional people at Waterford Regional were today confirmed suffering from the virus bringing the total number of affected to 208. Staff make up 139 of the figure while 69 patients have been affected.
Of these, five patients are still symptomatic and eight members of staff remain off-duty, the South Eastern Health Board said in a statement today.
At S. Patrick's Hospital there is one additional suspected case since Friday of a patient.
Both hospitals are closed to visitors, though Waterford Regional has resumed daycare and some non-elective surgery.The outpatients department, including fracture clinic appointments, are proceeding as normal.
