Bertie Vogts has made it clear he is interested in taking over the Scotland job in succession to Craig Brown.

Bertie Vogts has made it clear he is interested in taking over the Scotland job in succession to Craig Brown.

But the former German international defender and coach claims he has other offers available when his one-year contract as Kuwait manager ends.

"There are two possibilities - I could stay here as manager or I could go elsewhere," Vogts said. "There have been enquiries from two other countries who want me to be their manager, and there are two clubs who have contacted me.

"At the end of this month I will talk to them as well as the Scottish FA. Scotland has a big football tradition, and I would really enjoy working there. But I have a contract in Kuwait and I have to first talk to them.

"At the end of January I will be talking to the Scottish FA again, and maybe it is possible to go there on July 1st when my contract ends," Vogts said.
